For your COAT size First, the best measurement here is the size that is displayed on the inside of a suit coat or sports jacket that you own. This size will be displayed on any jacket that has been purchased retail. Then using a tape measure, measure the outside sleeve length, i.e. from where the sleeve is sewn at the shoulder pad and then to the bottom of the sleeve. If you do not own a suit or sports jacket, you will need to call into a retail store or hire shop in your town and try-on a coat to determine your size. At the same time ask the salesperson nicely to supply you with a correct sleeve length.

For your TROUSER size In your wardrobe you will have a pair of trousers that fit you well, i.e. waist size and length of trouser you are happy with. Inside the trouser you will find a printed waist size. Take a note of this size and then lay the trouser flat and using your tape measure, measure the length of the trouser from the top of the waistband down the outside leg seam to the bottom of the cuff.

For your SHIRT size Again, check your wardrobe for a shirt that has a collar and when buttoned at the collar is comfortable to wear. Check the size of this shirt, it will either be a numeral (e.g. 39, 42, 44 etc.) or a letter (M, L, XL, XXL, etc.). This is the size we require.
